Mr. Brown's litigation practice provides representation to both companies and individuals throughout the mid-Michigan area. Recent litigation cases handled by Mr. Brown generally fall within three areas of the law:

Business Relations - including breaches of fiduciary duty, minority shareholder rights, non-competition agreements, dissolution and accounting, breach of contract, and enforcement of buy-out agreements.

Real Estate/Construction - including construction lien foreclosure and defense, Builders Trust Fund Act, trespass/tree removal, negligent issuance of building permits, adverse possession, implied easements, faulty residential construction, subdivision restrictions, subdivision replatting, misrepresentation of property, and nuisance.

Commercial Law - including breach of warranty, revocation of acceptance, fraud, bank check warranties, and the Michigan Franchise Investment Law.

 Mr. Brown's representation does not end with trial work - he prosecutes and defends appeals and provides representation in bankruptcy court if the opposing party seeks refuge in that arena.

 Mr. Brown's cases range from ordinary matters up to large and complex litigation over multi-million dollar businesses. He believes that favorable settlements are reached by negotiating from a position of strength obtained by thourough case preparation and a  willingness to go to trial, if necessary.
